Privacy Policy
How LLA Plates collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 27 July 2026. First-pass wording for your review.
1. Who we are
This privacy notice explains how LLA Plates ("we", "us", "our"), part of Limitless Automotive, processes personal information for customers of llaplates.co.uk. LLA Plates is a trading name of Jordan Lowe, operating as a sole trader, who is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. LLA Plates is a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier.
Trading address: Flat 3, Weymouth House, OL9 0BD, United Kingdom.
Contact: contact@llaplates.co.uk · 07477 377540.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:
- Contact details you provide (name, email, phone number);
- Delivery and billing address;
- Order details, including the vehicle registration mark and plate specification you enter in the plate builder;
- Communications with us (email, phone, WhatsApp, contact form);
- For Road Legal orders, identification and vehicle-entitlement documentation you send us via WhatsApp, email or phone;
- Payment confirmation from Shopify and its payment providers (we don't receive or store your full card details);
- Technical information about your visit (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How and why we use your information (lawful bases)
- To fulfil your order — process payment, manufacture your plates, arrange delivery and provide customer support. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To verify Road Legal entitlement — check the documentation you provide after ordering. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and compliance with our legal obligations as a UK number plate supplier.
- To respond to enquiries sent by email, phone, WhatsApp or the contact form. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to customers, or steps taken prior to entering a contract.
- To keep required business records (tax, accounting, consumer rights). Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and misuse of the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Marketing (only if you opt in). Lawful basis: consent.
4. Road Legal documentation
For Road Legal orders, we contact you after checkout (typically via WhatsApp on 07477 377540) to request the documents needed to verify you are entitled to have the plates made — normally proof of identity and proof that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle.
We handle those documents only for the purpose of verifying entitlement and producing your plates, plus any records we are legally required to keep as a number plate supplier. We store them securely and restrict access to team members who need to see them. See section 7 for retention.
You can send documents via WhatsApp or email — please don't send more than we've asked for.
5. Who we share information with
- Shopify — our e-commerce and checkout platform, which processes your order and payment details on our behalf.
- Payment providers integrated with Shopify — to process card and other payments securely. We don't see or store your full card details.
- Delivery partners — to deliver your plates, using the address you provide.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — if you contact us on WhatsApp, that messaging service processes your messages under its own privacy terms.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook / Instagram) — we use the Meta Pixel on this website to measure our ad performance and show relevant ads. Meta receives your IP address, browser information and events such as page view, product view, add-to-basket and checkout initiation. Purchases are reported to Meta by Shopify on the checkout, not by this website. See our Cookie Policy for detail. You can opt out of personalised ads in your Facebook / Instagram settings.
- Professional advisers (e.g. accountants) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers (for example Shopify) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.
7. How long we keep your information
For records that we are legally required to retain as a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier, we keep those records for the period required by applicable law. For other personal information, we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with applicable legal, accounting and regulatory requirements (for example, HMRC record-keeping obligations).
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment providers using their own security infrastructure — we don't receive or store your full card details.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete information, where applicable;
- Ask us to restrict or object to processing, where applicable;
- Portability of information you provided to us;
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing).
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@llaplates.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Marketing
We only send marketing communications where you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email or by contacting us.
11. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for details of the cookies and local storage used on this site.
12. Complaints
If you have any concerns about how we handle your information, please contact us first at contact@llaplates.co.uk so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
