Hex Number Plates

What is a hex number plate?

A hex plate replaces the straight ends of a conventional plate with angled, hexagonal edges. The registration itself is laid out as normal, but the outline of the plate changes shape, which is why hex plates have become such a common sight at shows and meets.

Custom shapes and sizes can be road legal when manufactured to the required legal specification — it is the character font and style you choose, not the plate shape, that decides whether a plate is road legal or a show plate. Choose Road Legal in the builder with a legal character style, or Show Plate for display use.

Hex sizes we make

• Standard HEX — a full-length hexagonal plate.
• 6 Digit HEX — sized for six-character registrations.
• 5 Digit HEX — sized for five-character registrations.

Finishes available on hex

• 3D gel — smooth domed gel characters.
• 4D 3mm and 4D Bevelled — laser-cut acrylic depth.
• 4D Gel 3mm — acrylic characters with a domed gel top.
• Ghost — tone-on-tone characters for a subtle finish.
• Front, rear, matching pair or Mix & Match with a hex plate one end only.
